I seem to have left the room! I have several comments to respond to, and more thoughts to put down here. This week is a busy one in my life and I look forward to having time to ponder and write more once it’s over.
In the meantime, I am enjoying thinking about this Sherlock Holmes quote (from The Sign of the Four): “When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.” I am not attempting to solve crime this week, in case you all were wondering. But I am finding great comfort in this quote as I think about my own life.
Back to the races and I’ll see you soon!

I do too. It’s a mystery of the internal processes, here. Sherlock Holmes dealt with external processes, but this is about acknowledging that the improbable is true, simply because the impossible has been eliminated. And what does that mean for me, having believed what I now know to be impossible, for so long? It’s like I’m having to fill a newly created internal space that was occupied by belief in the impossible. That impossible has been eliminated, and the improbable is true. What, then, do I do with the cavern formerly filled with that incorrect belief?
Story of my life, eh?
